Postdoc in computational mathematical modeling in Gothenburg

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Chalmers and the University of Gothenburg invites applications for a Postdoc position for a period of up to two years.

This exciting position will give you an excellent opportunity to use and develop your mathematical skills in modeling, algorithms and simulations in groundbreaking interdisciplinary projects.  The position is affiliated with Built Environment, one of eight Areas of Advance at Chalmers taking on the challenge of developing a sustainable future.

About the project
Part of the overall research at Chalmers is organized into eight interdisciplinary Areas of Advance, each harboring several Excellence Profiles. One of these is Built Environment with the profile Computational Design and Production in which Mathematical Sciences has a prominent role. We work closely with researchers from several departments, including Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Product and Production Development, the Fraunhofer-Chalmers Centre as well as leading national and international firms.

We explore the possibilities of mathematical modeling and digital tools for a range of applications relating to the built environment. This is done using mathematical modeling, design of numerical algorithms and simulations, implementation of solvers and experiments, and visualization of results.
