Centre de Recerca Matemàtica Blog

For the remainder of June the ECMI Blog will be under the control of the CRM. Consequently there will be a significant bias towards mathematics in nanotechnology.

In the next few days we will publish short articles on nanocrystal growth, nanoparticle evolution (by the Anile prize winner) and also some bad examples of applying mathematics at the nanoscale.

We would also like to thank the organisers of ECMI 2016, who provided an excellent array of talks, good food and sufficient rain to convince many of us we had flown by accident to Ireland.

Francesc Font, a former PhD student of the CRM and Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, receives the Anile prize from Tim Myers (also CRM) and Dietmar Homberg (ECMI president) at the ECMI 2016 conference.
