On the packing process in a shoe manufacturer

Savana company, specialized in the production of children’s footwear, challenged 119ESGI’s participants (June 2016, Porto, Portugal) to study their packing process, in order to improve the packing process by eliminating the manual box selection; reducing the choice of boxes and the empty space in a packaged box; and automating the container design and subsequent packing of the individual boxes. In answering this challenge, it was published the following paper:
