ECMI Model Master
in Mathematics for Industry
Here a model curriculum in Mathematics for Industry, as is recommended by ECMI, is presented.
Local master programmes offered by the ECMI Educational Centres may slightly differ from this model, depending on local or national regulations.
Recommended background to enter the ECMI Educational Programme
- 180 ECTS of undergraduate study at university level (bachelor degree),
- Prerequisite courses covering the topics in course block A,
- Prerequisite courses covering topics of an amount of at least 12 ECTS in block B (with at least 2 out of 6 topics for Economathematics)
- Since the education is given in English, good communication skills in English are required both orally and in writing.
Recommended courses
- Courses covering the topics in block B not taken in the preparatory phase,
- For Technomathematics: At least 60 ECTS of elective courses in course block C. Among these courses there are required mathematical courses (mathematics, mathematical statistics and numerical analysis) summing up to at least 42 ECTS as well as courses in a minor field of study related to mathematics of at least 12 ECTS,
- For Economathematics: At least 48 ECTS of elective courses in course block C. Among these courses there should be mathematical courses (mathematics, mathematical statistics and numerical analysis) summing up to at least 36 ECTS and courses in a minor field of study related to mathematics of at least 6 ECTS,
- Mathematical courses in
For Technomathematics For Economathematics Scientific Computing Computational Methods Optimization Discrete Mathematics Mathematical Statistics - Further courses up to 120 ECTS in total (e.g. from block C or from economy, management, law).
