The digital human model IPS IMMA takes a short break in the vehicle. EMMA helps to answer the question of how to assess comfort under dynamic driving manoeuvres even in such relaxed postures.

Kaiserslautern. EMMA4Drive – Dynamic Human Model for More Safety and Comfort in Autonomous Vehicles

With the EMMA4Drive project, our researchers of the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics ITWM are further developing the dynamic human model EMMA for use in fully or partially autonomous driving vehicles.

Kaiserslautern. Scaled Boundary Isogeometric Analysis

When delving into numerical analysis, particularly in the realm of Finite Elements (FEs), one encounters several difficulties and hurdles associated with the central step of discretizing the underlying problem. In a two-phase interdisciplinary DFG research project, a robust numerical method was therefore developed that combines Isogeometric Analysis (IGA) and the Scaled Boundary Finite Element Method (SB-FEM) for modelling complex geometries in linear and non-linear solid mechanics.
