Olav Møyner has been awarded the Chorafas-prize 2017 (for a complete list of the prize winners see Prizewinners2017).
Olav Møyner defended his thesis at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in December 2016 . His supervisors were Helge Holden and Knut-Andreas Lie. The title of the thesis was Next Generation Multiscale Methods for Reservoir Simulation.
The Dimitris N. Chorafas Foundation awards scientific prizes for outstanding work in selected fields in the engineering sciences, medicine and the natural sciences. It rewards research characterized by its high potential for practical application and by the special significance attached to its aftermath.
Olav was the only mathematician to receive the prize this year.
