In the week April 6-10, 2026, just after Easter, we are organizing the MagiC workshop at Bjørnfjell Mountain Lodge, Alta, Norway. The meeting is the newest edition of the winter workshops organized as a joint venture between NTNU and the University of Bergen. As usual, this will be a mixture of mathematics talks, outdoor activities such as skiing and snowshoeing, as well as social interaction.

The series of MaGIC winter workshops have been organized almost every year since 1999, at different mountain lodges or cabins around Norway. This time we have chosen Alta as our location, situated in the far north of Norway, well beyond the arctic circle. We expect around 15-20 participants.
REMODEL is a Horizon Europe project within the MSCA – Staff Exchanges category. It is an acronym for Research Exchanges in the Mathematics of Deep Learning with applications. The project is led by NTNU and has partners from TU Eindhoven, University of Bath, University of Cambridge, Simon Fraser University, Emory University and Kobe University.

The main conference of the project is organized in Trondheim May 11-13, 2026, at the Scandic Nidelven Hotel. We expect participants from all 7 partners, and a turnout of around 30 participants. There will be many opportunities for scientific and social interaction, not the least for planning new projects and activities in the future. The REMODEL project has so far been a huge success, with many secondments and visits between the partners, which have led to many new collaborations and research outputs.
