EU-MATHS-IN OpenDesk: A one-stop-shop for tailor-made solutions for industry, commerce, public administration and start-ups

From 20 to 24 September 2022, the official launch of EU-Maths-IN OpenDesk will take place, a support platform for European companies created in the context of the European Service Network of Mathematics for Industry and Innovation (EU-MATHS-IN).

The OpenDesk event that will take place online in the 4th week of September, is addressed to managers of companies, start-ups and public administrations, and will serve as a kick-off for this innovative service.

The programme has two distinct parts that can be followed online.

Part I.- The first part, the OpenDesk kick-off, will take place on the morning of 20 September and is open to all (registration required) with the following programme:
1st part | 20/09/2022 (CEST times)
09:45-10:00 Login time
10:00-10:40 Welcome and presentation of the OpenDesk
10:45-12:15 Round Table | The Impact of Mathematical Technology Transfer for Innovation: The Industrial Point of View.

The Round Table, which will take place after a brief presentation of the platform, features guest speakers from companies of very diverse sizes, who have already successfully contacted and applied this area of science to innovate and technologically develop organisations.
Registration for Part I is available through this link.

Part II.- The second part is the OpenDesk B2B Matchmaking Event co-organised with the Enterprise Europe Network, which is the largest European network for internationalisation and innovation support for European enterprises.

2nd Part | 20-24/09/2022 | (by appointment only) OpenDesk B2B Matchmaking Event

This part will take the form of one-to-one online meetings between company representatives and OpenDesk members, which may take place between 20 and 24 September. Registration is free but compulsory, and the number of private meetings is limited. In those meetings, the company representatives will be able to ask questions or get more information on the OpenDesk workflow.

The EU-Maths-IN OpenDesk aims to facilitate the access of European industry to the best technology transfer centres existing in Industrial Mathematics, ensuring at the same time privacy and confidentiality.

The European companies will thus be able to find the most appropriate partner to effectively solve their current challenges, among the nearly 400 research groups of excellence that form the EU-MATHS-IN Network. Some examples of technology transfer-based success stories developed by EU-MATHS-IN members can be found at

This event is organised by EU-MATHS-IN, which aims to foster the transfer of mathematical technology to the business and industrial context. This organisation is an Association of 20 National Networks of Research Units in Industrial Mathematics, promoted by ECMI and EMS, that facilitate the effective resolution of concrete industrial problems, contributing to competitive and efficient processes. This organisation brings together, in those 20 countries, about 400 research centres, reaching more than 9000 researchers specialised in different fields of industrial mathematics.
