It is no surprise that IT technologies are rapidly evolving, that is why technology-related programs should be modified to keep pace with the latest developments and technology updates. Also, since most of the latest technology advances are covered in English, it is in English that such programs should be presented. The Master’s degree program in question embraces all these aspects.

Under the program students study various modules such as Modern Problems of Computer and Information Science, Intelligent Systems, Computing Systems, Mathematical Modeling and Simulation, Signals and Information Theory, Cryptography and Coding, Machine Dynamics, Electrical Drives.

Upon the graduation from SPbPU students are entitled to get double diploma at either City University of London or Leibniz University of Hannover. Students spend their first year of studies in St. Petersburg and then proceed to complete the course in the chosen university. The studies help students gain valuable international experience, improve their language skills, acquire knowledge in the field of advanced IT, and consequently become more valued on the job market.

The program has several specific features that deserve to be noted particularly. The launch of the “Intelligent Systems” program was preceded by thorough preparation process. This process has been highly rated and proved efficient by the wide range of job opportunities for the university graduates. For the past few years the most prized professors from all over the world have been giving lectures to students of the High School of Cyber-physical Systems and Control. For example, courses were taught by prof. Arto Kaarna of Lappeenranta University of Technology, prof. Alonso Fernandez Eduardo of CUL, prof. Franck Leprévost from the University of Luxembourg, etc. The already long list of the involved universities is growing longer every year.

The cooperation between SPbPU and international companies like Siemens, FESTO, Schneider Electric, SAP, etc. has allowed high-tech laboratories to be founded. According to Professor V.P. Shkodirev, director of the High School of Cyber-physical Systems and Control, the state-of-the-art laboratories are the signature brand of both the program and the university. The mentioned features form the basis of the program’s competitive advantages; they are the reason of the program’s success and efficiency.
