The Department of Mathematics-Instituto Superior Técnico is pleased to announce the international meeting Data Science, Statistics & Visualisation, DSSV2017. The event will take place between the 12th and 14th July 2017 at Alameda Campus, Lisboa. DSSV2017 is promoted by the International Association for Statistical Computing (IASC), preceding the 61st World Statistics Congress in Marrakesh, July 16-21.
Researchers discussing new developments and immerging ideas in subjects such as Big Data, Statistical Learning, Visualisation and Verbalization of Data will be present. We welcome Trevor Hastie from Stanford Univ., USA and Daniel Keim from the Univ. of Konstanz, Germany as Keynote Speakers. As Invited Speakers we are happy to announce Mário Figueiredo from Instituto Superior Técnico Portugal, André F.T. Martins from Unbabel Portugal, Peter Rousseeuw from Univ. of Leuven in Belgium and Myra Spiliopoulou from the Univ. of Magdeburg, Germany.
DSSV2017 will reach an audience of professionals and students interested in the interplay of computer science, statistics and visualization whilst having distinct technical backgrounds. The conference is an opportunity to engage with a community, thus establishing connections that will prove to be interesting to all.
