Deadline extended: Anile-ECMI Prize for Mathematics in Industry

The Associazione Angelo Marcello Anile and ECMI are happy to announce the fourth Anile-ECMI Prize for Mathematics in Industry to be awarded at the ECMI 2016 conference in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, June 13 -17, 2016.

The prize will be given to a young researcher for an excellent PhD thesis in industrial mathematics successfully submitted at a European university in 2014-2016. The award, honouring Professor Angelo Marcello Anile (1948-2007) of Catania, Italy, consists of prize of 2500 Euro and an invitation to give a keynote talk at the ECMI 2016 conference.

Previous winners of the Anile ECMI Prize:

2010 Andriy Vasyliovich Hlod, Eindhoven University of Technology. Thesis title: “Jets of viscous fluid: interactions with a moving wall”.

2012 Francesco Ferranti, Ghent University, Belgium. Thesis title: “Parameterized Macromodeling and Model Order Reduction of High-Speed Interconnects”.

2014 Paolo Pintus, Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Pisa. Thesis title: ‘’Design of silicon based integrated optical devices using the finite element method’’.

Submission of Entries

A copy of the thesis should be sent as PDF-File to the address below to arrive by April 15, 2016. The entry should be accompanied by a letter from the PhD supervisor which summarises the mathematical and industrial relevance of the work. Please, use ANILE-ECMI Prize in the subject line of your e-mail. If the language of the thesis is not English, then it is necessary to send also an extended summary in English.
