OL2A 2026: International Conference on Optimization, Learning Algorithms and Applications

Hybrid Event – Málaga (Spain) and Online, 10–12 June 2026

The VI edition of the International Conference on Optimization, Learning Algorithms and Applications (OL2A 2026) will take place from 10 to 12 June 2026 as a hybrid event, hosted on-site at the Ada Byron Research Building, University of Málaga (Spain), with full online participation available.

OL2A 2026 provides an international forum for researchers, academics, and practitioners to exchange ideas and present recent advances in optimization theory, learning algorithms, and their applications. The conference focuses on both theoretical developments and practical challenges arising in a wide range of domains where optimization and learning play a central role.

The scientific programme will cover topics including, but not limited to: Optimization theory and algorithms (linear, nonlinear, stochastic, multi-objective, integer and mixed-integer optimization);  Population-based, evolutionary and metaheuristic methods; Learning algorithms theory; Machine learning for optimization and optimization for machine learning;     Big Data, predictive analytics, and data-driven models; Applications of optimization and learning in industry, engineering, and education

All submitted papers will undergo a multiple peer-review process and will be evaluated on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity. The conference proceedings will be published in the Springer-Verlag Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS) series, indexed in SCOPUS. Furthermore, the 25% best papers will be invited to submit extended versions to a Springer Nature Computer Science journal.

The conference benefits from the support of a large and highly international Scientific Committee, bringing together experts in optimization, learning, applied mathematics, computer science, and engineering from Europe, North and South America, Asia, Africa, and Australia. This broad scientific representation ensures both the quality of the peer-review process and the multidisciplinary scope of the conference.

The conference is jointly chaired by Ana I. Pereira (Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, Portugal) and Ismael Navas (University of Málaga, Spain), with a strong involvement of IPB researchers in the programme and organization committees, reinforcing OL2A’s connection to the applied mathematics, optimization, and learning communities aligned with ECMI’s mission.
