The Basque Center for Applied Mathematics – BCAM, is looking for a Research Fellow
position for Software Engineer to join the Machine Learning (ML) group, and work under
the supervision of Dr. Novi Quadrianto.
We are offering a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to join the Basque Center for
Applied Mathematics (BCAM) as a Research Fellow.
You will join a team of machine learning researchers developing and utilising statistical matching
techniques for mitigating and auditing bias in Artificial Intelligence (AI) models.
You will take a substantive role in developing a tool which can be easily integrated into any AI
workflow, in a plug and play fashion, to continuously monitor and improve its fairness. A key
aspect of the tool is the ability to operate with different types of data (tabular, images, and text) in
a variety of contexts (binary and multiclass classification and regression). It is also able to match
datasets in different domains including out-of-distribution data even if these datasets have
different numbers of variables or features.

Ikerbasque, the Basque Foundation for Science offers 10 permanent positions for
research Professors & Research Associates, in all BCAM research fields. This call is open
to Established researchers and Senior leading researchers with a solid research track and
international experience.
Basque Center for Applied Mathematics – BCAM, is the responsible of the pre-selection
procedure, in two steps:
Step 1: Pre-selection of the BCAM candidates will be as follows:
• Potential candidates: Please send the candidacy before July 15th 2024, by our
website.
• The BCAM Selection Committee will pre-select the candidates and will have
an interview with them around July 19th – 24th, 2024.
• After that, The BCAM Selection Committee will select the BCAM candidacies in this
call by the end of July and will prepare the BCAM support letter for the selected

IC2024_06_04 Postdoctoral Position in Quantum Metrology
The Basque Center for Applied Mathematics is launching one Postdoctoral position
of 1 year, to work in the area of on Doppler Quantum Metrology in the group of Dr.
Mikel Sanz at BCAM.
The researcher will work on the design of new quantum-enhanced metrology protocols for
rotational quantum systems, adapting the mathematical machinery to the situation in which
the observed parameter can change with the measurement, and applying them to
experiments with quantum gyroscopes in collaboration with Dr. Gabriel Molina-Terriza
(CFM). Applications to relativistic systems will be also explored.
We are looking for a promising young researcher, who has the PhD degree preferable in
Quantum Metrology, Quantum Information, or related topics and expertise connected to the
research interests of the group Quantum Mechanics (QM). The project is funded by IKUR
project – Quantum Technologies.
The position is for a postdoctoral contract of one year (with ample possibilities for renewal)
